A refresh was in order when empty nesters traded in their suburban family home for an eastern long island retreat. The biggest design challenge was a complete reconfigure of the master suit including the en-suite bathroom. In the bedroom, the question was how to reconcile the bed made off-center by the creation of the sitting area. This was achieved by the extended head-board millwork. The relocation of the skylights to the sitting area helps to ground that space.
